Digital city information system for Hockenheim

The city of Hockenheim is taking another step towards digitalization and proximity to citizens. Together with Wedeko, an innovative digital city information system was implemented that provides interactive, clear and barrier-free information at central locations in the city.

The challenge

Hockenheim was looking for a modern solution to efficiently provide citizens and visitors with up-to-date information, event notices and important dates. Special requirements included weather-resistant and vandal-proof systems for outdoor use as well as the integration of an automated appointment display for meeting rooms.

The solution

In close cooperation with the city of Hockenheim, we developed and successfully implemented a customized concept:

• Two 55" outdoor touchstones: Strategically placed, these interactive displays provide information on city maps, sights and events.
• A 75" outdoor housing with touch in front of the town hall: as a central information point, it combines municipal services and citizen information on a user-friendly interface.
• Shop window display with fire protection housing: Optimally visible in daylight and safe to use.
• Two 32" displays in front of meeting rooms: with metal enclosures and automated database interface for the appointment and room occupancy display.

The result

The new system combines aesthetics, functionality and technology and makes Hockenheim a pioneering city in terms of digital citizen communication. Citizens and visitors benefit from simple operation, barrier-free information and a modern design.
