One family, three generations and almost 50 years of joy in working in the butcher's trade. The Mayer butchery from Ilsfeld can look back on a long tradition of butchery. In 2021, the managing directors Tobias Fichtel and Frank Mayer decided to take a big step towards modernization & digitalization.

Tobias Fichtel reports:

"We had normal billboard advertising in the store before, which meant that our sales floor only had advertising about the current offer. So we couldn't advertise any of our normal items. Per week, that was something like 12 posters per store. We have two stores, so there were about 24 posters that we had to create and print every week. We had already done this using a Wedeko program, but everything was still in paper form.

We have now decided again for Wedeko, because you simply bind a super overall solution. Currently we serve our weekly offer on the homepage and our social media photos via Wedeko. We have the screens in the store via Wedeko - we have integrated our carts, so also screens that have now not come directly from Wedeko. We have three price rails integrated with it and all of that runs through the VisuScreen program.

Of all the changes we made this year, that was the biggest visual change. The bottom line is that it has been very well received and that if you specifically offer certain products via the screen advertising, we can also drive sales a little more.

The operation via any end device is absolutely bombastic for me, you don't need to install it permanently. This also means that it is always up to date. At the beginning, it's always strange when they say you can't buy anything anymore, but have to sign up for a subscription. But I think that is the right way at this time. The operation is super simple. You can distribute permissions so that employees can also work on it without making gross mistakes or doing things that they are not allowed to do.

And what is a mega advantage for me is the connection with our merchandise management system. The Wedeko program communicates with our merchandise management system. This means that I no longer need to make price changes or name changes in the program at all, but do everything in my business system. And as soon as something changes there, Wedeko takes over in the program and also executes the whole thing.

The handling via Wedeko went very well. The first steps were that Wedeko came to our house with advice, looked at the situation on site. They then gave us detailed advice on what would be possible. At that time, there was no talk of doing it in this style. It more or less developed through the conversation. You only get screens from Wedeko, but you also get the complete solution, like we have. And all of that has actually been planned by Wedeko. From the initial meeting to the project managers, who Wedeko itself has, who were then on site, who coordinated the construction work. They did the scheduling, what is needed from the electrician, where does a cable have to go everywhere. And of course also afterwards from the consolidation of the appointments, be it from the store fitter, as now with us, where we have also installed the screens at the counter. Or electricians, IT specialists for the merchandise management component, who made the connection possible in the first place. Wedeko worked out all of this independently, so I can say that the process was perfect. You always had one contact person, and above all you always had just one contact person who took care of everything."
